The Stockton Sportsmen's Club offers 2 scholarship programs. Please read the information below on The Annual Scholarship Award Competition and the Agricultural Educational Award.

The Annual Scholarship Award Competition

The Stockton Sportsmen's Club is proud to announce its annual scholarship competition. This program was initiated to provide financial assistance for a post-graduate student majoring in any field related to North American wildlife or habitat management. Past awards have supported research ranging from river oaks to brown trout. Depending on the quality of applicants, grants totaling $3,000.00 are awarded.

Application Criteria

  1. United States citizenship.
  2. A post-graduate student at an accredited university in California.
  3. Declared major in any field related to North American wildlife or habitat management.
  4. A minimum 3.0 cumulative graduate school GPA.

Application Materials

  1. A one page cover letter detailing your qualifications, interests, and career goals. Please note your interest and participation in outdoor recreational or conservation activities.
  2. A summary - not to exceed 3 pages - of your prospectus or intended thesis research. This summary should be in layman's language as members of the evaluation committee represent a number of professions.
  3. A resume.
  4. Two faculty letters of recommendation.
  5. A copy of your current graduate school transcript.

The Agricultural Educational Award

The Stockton Sportsmen's Club is proud to announce the creation of an award to assist graduating high school seniors interested in a career in agriculture. Depending on the quality of applicants, grants totaling $1,500.00 will be awarded. These awards were created in appreciation of the support given to the Stockton Sportsmen's Club by numerous area farmers.

Application Criteria

  1. Graduating senior who will attend a college or vocational school.
  2. Declared major in any field or program related to agriculture.
  3. Two page, typed, double-spaced letter stating future career goals and how this award will help the nominee attain them.
  4. A list of school and extra-curricular activities.
  5. A recommendation from an FFA advisor.

Application Procedure

After putting together your application materials, submit them to your school's scholarship committee. They will then nominate one or two candidates and forward their applications to the Stockton Sportsmen's Club.
